Actually, GMP turned into ACME Diecast after the Chinese swiped their molds, claiming that the factory they were using owed back taxes. And to get them back would cost roughly 80% of what it takes to make new ones.
GMP is now back in business, as well as ACME, and are in fact working on a new 1/18 FED! Yee Haw!
I believe it is the Chizler, and I do have it on pre-order.
    I need that Hawaiian!!!

1950 Chevrolet Bel-Air HT. ...now convertible..
It's a 1/18th Mira Solido (crap) roof line was way out of proportion with out the roof it looks better, windshield frame still off a little, will make a top boot for it..so far I have lowered it and removed some trim parts it's starting to come around...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  5. Some old die cast vehicles from my childhood. The green bus and the yellow truck are Tootsietoys.
All of them are "Made in U.S.A."

Yes. The trailer was just made by hand by a gentleman in Nebraska. The tractor I am building out of vintage parts. This cab design was marketed under the name Miller Ironson Corp. in 1954. It was the same company known as Smith Miller from the 40s through 1955. They didn't have 10-wheel tractors in 1954. I am using a longer frame from a straight truck and adding a walking beam. Below are photos of what Smith Miller made in 1953 and 1955, respectively. Only some of the 1955 Model had 18 wheels originally. I augmented the rest. 1955 being their last year in business could have proved that it was uneconomical to change tooling every single year. Fred brought the company back to life in 1978. It was a fantastic thing he did and continues to do to provide parts and new limited edition trucks. It was his advertisements in Hemmings geared toward collectors in the early 80s that caught my attention as a kid. I had never seen such beautiful trucks with realistic detail and real rubber tires. Finally, 35 years later, I got one.

  19. Here's what it looks like "cleaned up. These were made by Ertil's Highway 61 division. They did them with a flathead V8 too, Amazing detail for the money.

  25. Another oldie, these diecast were made to be toys. So scale and detail are not the best. 20170704_060132.jpg 20170704_062310.jpg 20170704_055928.jpg 20170704_055659.jpg

  27. Ed, I liked your small diecast of your 32 and son's 37 Chevy. I looked through my small diecast to see if I have my cars too.
I had a 56 nomad and 68 vette. But had to use 32s for the delivery and coupe.Lol 20170704_063956.jpg 20170704_064344.jpg
