I did a search in the MSRA yearbook and didn't find any chemical strippers. I thought there used to be one in Shakopee or Savage?
Ya, thanks, I thought there was a shop down there someplace but I'm drawning a blank. Anyone else have any ideas?
not acid but I saw this on utube today after talking to somebdy and I'm considering making a tank large enough to do a carbody or frame. http://youtu.be/KZCFcxf5IBw
i think you guys are talking about Metal Strippers in Savage. it was run by guy named Jack , but i believe it has been out of business for years
The guy you want is Clarence. He does dipping just South of Grand Forks ND. He did all the sheet metal for my Lincoln. The parts come back super clean and the price is not bad. PM me if you want his contact info.
HenryJ beat me too it. Clarence did the hood on my '51 6-7 years ago. Turned out really well, and not badly priced.
I just did a hood, so there really wasn't any place for the chemical to get trapped. But for larger parts like doors and bodies that have little pockets here and there, that can be a problem and those parts have to be cleaned and dried very thoroughly before painting can start.
