I'm just going to repost this...

The Japanese have a category for people with very high levels of knowledge of traditional skills and practices, the arcane knowledge that carries on a bit of culture into the future..."Living National Treasure."
Dick fits that category right here...his knowledge of old Fords, racing tech, and traditional chassis are unsurpassed and a treasure of traditional performance culture, and he has always shared freely.

There it is. A big piece of our human heritage is gone. RIP.

  15. Well if this is an official lost another one thread and Dick is really gone I am very sad to hear it. Some times you know someone in passing and have had a chance to glean knowledge from them and even the occasional how do you do and that is a great loss when they are gone. I will miss the opportunity to share in his knowledge.

It is a far greater loss for those who actually have close personal knowledge of them and their lives are intertwined. I am saddened for them, and will keep them in my thoughts. If you are one of those people my condolences.
