Deuce roadster update

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by X38, Jan 29, 2010.

  1. Haven't done an update on this for ages, so here are a few pix of where it's up to. Some are phone, some are from a camera - should be obvious which are which!

This is the nervous part of the build, trying to assemble and tighten things for the last time without scratches and chips. Bled the brakes and clutch this morning and all is well. It's a McLeod hydraulic throwout.

Don't worry about the rocker covers, the real ones and a few other things will go on once it comes back from the trim shop.

That all looks very well thought out. I know 'well thought out' when I see it. I just can't do it.

Too shiny for me. I'd be too scared of scratching it.

Bloody hell, that's is clinical, so clean it's crazy. Great stuff. Have to say I'd be pooping myself for fear of marking any of that paint.

Beautiful seems like this style color is a hit lately.

  11. Marmalade copper Tony. It's in a Standox base/clear. Wheels are a creamy vanilla and the '40 Deluxe steering wheel is a tu-tone of both.

  12. The plan is yes, but I may have to go to Sydney. It's a Murphy's law thing:mad:

Looks like it will be a beautiful car.

Out of curiosity, what is the thought behind the parallel tubes on the center crossmember?

  21. Absolutely top notch, Tony! Love the color.

  22. Good question and I think it was more a case of lack of thought.

A company who shall remain nameless welded up the frame. They used a centre x-member kit + a P&J ladder bar cross member, rather than incorporate ladderbar mounts into the X-member. Not what I would have done, but that's how it showed up. Due to other complications with the frame and body, the centre of the front one was removed and I linked the two.

  23. Lookin good Tony.
When ya comin back across the pond?
    Don

  24. damn. I'll have to go with boris on this one - could well be the coolest car to ever come out of the sunshine state.

  26. Hahahaha... yep. Tony's got a big box of flaming eyeballs to go on it as soon as it's back from the trimmes. ;)

I love it Tony. Looks fantastic.

Either your camera is messed up, or the pedals n' stuff are on the wrong side again.
