After some help here guys.....i'm at the stage of saying "yes i'll have it" but really need someome in the area to go & take a quick look at it just to make sure its not a complete pile of junk.
Or if no HAMBERS are available maybe you could recomend a company that could.
I'm not looking for a freeby here just need an honest opinion on the car, will pay $100 plus gas.
Its a '39 Ford Coupe located at Autohaus Los Gatos in Campbell CA 408 370 2655.
really appreciate any help, there is a deadline of thurs evening as they plan on taking the car to the Monterey auction.

155 Kennedy Ave, jeez, years ago I worked at a place called Quality Wheels at 150 Kennedy Ave in Campbell. Kooky.

That coupe looks like a damn nice machine. I hope it work out for you.

    Hey Kev,

If yer having a money problem (like, way too much of it), just let me know - I can take some of it off your hands w/o the hassle and headache of shipping a car. I'll even drive over & pick it up! [IMG]

    PS - Looks like mine - except mine's a '40 [IMG]

well ernie,i think it would be only fair for ME to drive the thing back east, with a per diem for gas and food, plus an airline ticket for the trip back to california [IMG]

I would love to have that myself! Don't worry, out of my price range currently. I'd drop that axle and then... DONE.

Cool, glad to have been of help......

Just to shed a little light on Kev's comment's.....

The car was offered for sale by the company I worked for last year, I warned Kev off them, as I had 'inside info' on the way they worked on cars etc.

Glad you got sorted Kev, and a big thanks to George.

it was easy for me,as i am not likely to get all starry eyed at the sight of a pre-war ford [IMG] it's all too easy to overlook all the warts and dings on a car you fall in love with like my Olds,or my brother's Hudson.they were cheap though, this guy wanted top bluebook value for an amateur resto #3 at best, the auction price it's at now is too much by half in my opinion-george
