I have a '55 Desoto 291 engine that needs rebuilt. Two of the connecting rods are ruined and I was wondering where a person could get replacements? I checked with Egge, but no luck on rods. Does anyone know if 276 rods are interchangeable with the 291's? Thanks for any leads.
Yes the 276 rods will interchange - they are the same stroke and bearing size etc so no problems if you find some of these
Stock rebuild? use stock parts. Hot street piece? start shopping. Depending on what you have planned for the rebuild you might want to look at some of the aftermarket pieces. .
