Hey everyone, I am a newbie, but have watched this site for quite some time. I guess I was just waiting to have something good to post!

I recently was one of the winners of the Hot Wheels 40th Anniversary Design Challenge. I won't go into all the details, but there were 6 companies, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Lotus that had winning designs. I just thought I'd show you mine.

My car is called the Ford Gangster Grin. Some of the influences for the car were the 49 Ford, custom Mercurys, and a little Linclon in there too! The model is 1/5 scale as you can see by the photo with me.

It was a blast to do this project, and even better that Ford allowed me to participate and take so much time out of my work days to do it!

That's pretty cool. Is it made outta clay??

Where in Redford are you? I'm at Middlebelt and Schoolcraft. In the summer months there are a group of HAMB folks that hang out at the cruz night on Schoolcraft at Inkster on Tuesday nights. You'll have to join us one night.

Now SOMEONE needs to make a 60 Buick HotWheel and I'll be in heaven.

  12. WOW! impressive.
When I look at the 3/4 rear view, I envision a 49' Buick Sedanette as the basis for this.....

Although I did bang my head this morning.

I can't remember where I saw the pictures, but I'm pretty sure it already is fullscale. I believe it was at SEMA this year...

There are a couple of lurkers here who do custom hot wheels and they are amazing. "Hingeman" is one of them and the other guys name is Matt, but I don't remember his screen name.

I dabble in some customs... but not too much lately and nothing to write home about... just a time waster
