Well its Bonneville speed week and I thought this would be fitting. A place I have never been, but have always dreamed about. I was digging through some of my old little books when I found December 1953 Rod & Custom. What a great issue it was and is. I hope you all enjoy these few pages.

That roadtrip is one of the best magazine reads ever...and did you read the wrieup on the cover roadster?? Street/show rod drives to the flats and goes realdamnfast...always wondered whether that car still exists! I have a couple of features on it, but not nearly enough!
The T-V8 shop truck towing the coupe is another great old rod, probably not even thought of as a rod by the owners...it was just spare parts thrown together to provide some traction!

  5. The guy is Lou Bingham, the trip chronicles his Bonneville trip. That coupe was restored recently, and was in TRJ last year.
