To ALL our HAMB FRIENDS…….

First of all the Dead Town 8 would like to thank everyone for their concern and support during very difficult times.

Through a series of events over the past 8 months, a lot of changes have been brought about. Good and bad.

With DeadTown 8 in its infant state, we all became closer together and with Shawn’s sudden passing the club was forced into adulthood. As a result, a lot of true colors began to show. In this we have found our core. Through all the chaos we have found clarity.

These events have forced us to reconsider who we are affiliated with as a group.

We have decided to change our name to preserve the integrity of our core group and Shawn’s memory.

We feel honored and privileged to have been formerly invited by Evel, on behalf of the California Chapter, with the blessing from the Texas Chapter, to form the Oklahoma Chapter of “THEM!”

For the preservation of our sanity and our integrity we have decided to accept the offer.

Ironically enough, in the forming of Dead Town 8, Shawn, Monkey and Sexton had discussed the possibilities of becoming a chapter. Rashy had separately been pondering the thought as well ever since hanging with THEM! Texas in Dallas.

This is the decision we’ve made as a group.

We would like to thank each of you for your unconditional love and support.

THEM!

Can't say I'm not a little suprised. I hope all of ya'lls individaul relationships with each other stay intact. You guys seemed pretty close, but that's just from a way outsider looking in.

Which of ya'll are now THEMers? Just the four of you?

Crazy man!
That's a fine organazation to join forces with.
So now that there THEM!ers all over Nor-Tex and Okl, it sounds like time to start plaining a THEM! sponcered event.

Like say oh for instance, a drag race at a cool old track around the DFW area?

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks Buzzard,

We are doing this to ensure that we do stay together. We ARE close. Family.

There is absolutley no internal crap amongst the group you hung with at Pistons & Paint.

We have added Rev and Dougy to the mix as well.

I think it's important to note that we weren't a typical club. This is also what we like about THEM! Texas.

No meetings, dues, officials. Just friends, hanging out and enjoying a shared interest.

This is more about showing our respect for friendships made than it is about any name.

It is a cool name though. [IMG]

This is not meant to diminish the friendships we share with other Texas clubs, nor other area clubs we are friends with.

P.S. We don't think of you as "a way outsider."

Buzzard...the core club group is the group that was at Piston's and Paint. Over the past 5-6 months certain people have kind of weeded themselves out of our group. In the long run this has been better for us because you can definately see how tight we all are now as a result of it. We are actually going to be able to function as a club, as oppose to having members that never want to help others and never attend events. All of us in the club now would do anything, anytime for eachother and basicly any brother in need. Those who's personal agendas were different from ours and all the political crap that went along with it are now gone. Our true friendships have kept the core together and that's something Shawn always wanted. We are definately excited and ready to leave old behind and strive toward the new. We plan to be very active and stay that way. Everyone has a running car and we plan to drive the shit out of them into the winter and all through next season.

Krup,

Let me just say...you'll have to wait and see...the subject has already been thrown around several times. We'll keep you posted.

Hope this sheds a little light on everything going on.

The way I see it, I met you guys as friends before I ever knew about the DT8. There was a core group then and it has never changed in my opinion. Yalls loyality to each other is constant no matter what name you go by. Besides your still a bunch of OklaHomos! [IMG] Good Luck with the new chapter!

16. Rashy and I had feverishly been pm'ing each other back and forth to develop our own chapter. We wanted our certain group, but at the same time over half of them were D8. This really reconciles it to a uniform and devout ONE! We have really been inspired by the texASS THEM! boys, with their come together and GIT ER DUN [IMG] attitude.

I believe the list goes as such:
Me (Reverend Jake)
Rashy and Mama Rash
Monkey
Sexton
Prettyman
Funhater (BBQ Scott)
Kracker Ass Kracker
Dougy
HAG
Weef

I hope I'm not omitting my fellow THEM!ers.

I want everyone to know, I believe the D8 closure is good thing. Shawn IS the reason why it's this way. The D8 boys want to save dignity to what he started and put aside the drama that arose in such sad circumstance. You are never gonna have a united group/club when there is a irrepairable line of division. I couldn't agree with them (no pun intended [IMG]) more.

THANKS EVEL, and thank you to my texASS brothers.

So, it's more of a ringer bowling team than a car club?

It is really neat for a top-notch organization like "THEM!" to start accepting and catering to "challenged" folks like yourselves. And I am confident that they have embraced you guys for far more reasons than just the government sponsored tax cuts. I think a special event in the DFW area would be a neat thing as well.

Congrats fellas. Sounds like a neat deal.

We are aiming for a "Green Country" area thing.

We're not nearly organized or responsible enough to host an event.

Hey Sweet-pea,

Good to see ya on the HAMB! If you've been around there recently you might have noticed most of us haven't been around DeadTown either. We've kinda split due to difference of opionions and lifestyles. All things change for the good and bad. We feel this is a great change of pace for the club.

See ya around soon. Post a intro...get a pic of that bird up on the board.

later,
monkey
