Hi @ all, I´ve got a problem. My 1955 Buick 264cui Nailhead need to be send into the mashine shop. But is it possible to mount a later nailhead on my Dynaflow like a 401 or something like that. Thanks in advance. Marcel
I believe only 264s and 322s are a direct bolt-on for that trans. The later 364/401/425s are different.
Using your existing transmission limits you to '53-'56 engines. However, if you could come up with a '57-'60 Dynaflow, it would still be set up for an enclosed driveline and would allow the use of the later nailheads.
Change the bellhousing & torque converter to one from a '57-'63 DynaFlow. Read the book VERY CAREFULLY. A '57-'63/364/401/425 with the dynaflow crank will be just about a bolt-in swap.
