I'll be there! Thankfully this year my sister and I won't have to lug around her husband's Chevy bumpers while he wheels and deals for a trade at the Bumper Boys stand. Anyone know if there'll be a vendor selling Buick stuff specifically? After walking the infield once last year, my eyes glazed over with a second pass. The place was PACKED and seems to grow bigger every year...if you haven't been to one yet, I highly recommend comfy walking shoes and a wad of cash.
I will be there again this year taking the pictures for the Turkey Run website. This will be my 5th year and I always have a great time. http://www.turkeyrun.com/photo_gallery.html http://jalopyweb.com/turkeyrun09/index.htm Scott AKA:Cadman

I'll be there working gate 50 Friday morning. It might be a little different this year due to the repaving of the track. Should be about done by then.
After hearing some wonderful noise coming from the track thursday, snuck in with a construction buddy and ! Damn It was Tony Stewart, giving the track a test run. The Daytona Beach News-Journal Tony Stewart became the first race-car driver to take a car at high speeds around a section of the newly paved Daytona International Speedway on Thursday afternoon. Stewart, behind the wheel of a high-powered pace car, stomped the gas pedal to the floorboard through Turns 3 and 4 with Speedway president Joie Chitwood III and repaving project manager Bill Braniff as passengers. "It's awesome," Stewart said after the thrill ride and before assisting Chitwood with painting the finish line. "I always like being the first guy to do things. "This place is going to have a totally new look, a totally new feel for the drivers and teams. It's going to be a lot of fun." Stewart said the bumps and dips that made driving a stock car challenging through Turn 4 and Turn 2 are gone. He said Turn 4 offered an extremely smooth ride, adding, "I could have gone through there with one hand on the wheel." "I can promise you, that we are going to fill every square inch of this racetrack with stock cars, because we'll have that flexibility on this new course," Stewart said. The Speedway scheduled Thursday's media-only event to spread the word that its six-month repaving project of the 2.5-mile tri-oval is on schedule, if not ahead of its construction timetable. "We got to run through Turns 3 and 4 at a decent clip," Chitwood said of his ride with Stewart. "We still have work to do in Turns 1 and 2, but if you look at the entire project, we are about 75 percent complete. "We have pit road and some other areas to work on, but the weather has been great for us." "To see 75 percent of this project completed is phenomenal," Stewart said. "I got to rip through Turns 3 and 4 and I can tell you, it's not the same racetrack."
Any place on the coastal highway. Rates are better than when the summer crowd is there. And your next question, go for as many days as you can. Cars will start showing up sunday in a trikle, then greater numbers each day. If I ever go again, I am renting a golf cart. Saturday from around 2:00 pm or so, cars will start drifting up and down the Coastal Highway. My wife and I find a bus stop bench and sit there all evening. We just wave the city busses on and enjoy the endless parade of cars. When I went the last time, there were several thousand cars with over a thousand in the used car corral. Too many to see in a couple of days. The vender row was like a small city.
I'll be there again this year, hopefully I will be able to go more than 1 1/2 days this year. Is there going to be any HAMB parking this year? Please stop by and say Hi!
Goin' to be there all three days, can't wait. Ridin' down in a '66 c10 lwb - looks like a old u-haul truck orange and white two tone.
