I was really thinking that part looked like the inlet tube for a Kanooter Valve. I had one on a Huppmobile. Of course my car had the Quadraphonic system on it, so I`m not sure that the Kanooter Valve inlet tube would be the same . . .

Most of the Kanooter Valves today are Chinese and won't last any longer than the Gunibbly pin that typically shears when the muffler belt is over tightened, creating all that leverage on the Johnson rod that drives the Kanooter pump.
