Saturday, June 10th, 2014. It begins.......again. The last time this car moved under it's own power was in 1968...

I remember reading about Mickey going 406 mph in the pages of Hot Rod Magazine back in the day, and now seeing the Challenger coming back to life with Danny kinda brings chills to me. Good luck to you Danny, you've got the ''go-fast'' genes to do it.

  5. That's frickin' awesome! One little nit-picky deal..............June 10 wasn't a Saturday. ;)

Very much looking forward to seeing and hearing this car along with the Carboliner and Marlo's new car, next month.

  7. I really hope Danny can find a sponsor to support this historic effort. He has financed this entire project on his own dime. He has sold some of his fathers prized collection of cars to finance this effort. I wish him all the luck in the world.

    Awesome pics, thanks for sharing.
With good weather and salt it should be a very interesting season. Gonna be tough for me missing Speedweek this year.

Until Danny does find funding, maybe we can somewhat help out. I challenge all HAMBer's to go to Danny's website --> http://thompsonlsr.com/ and at least buy a T-shirt. And only 7 days left to buy them.
You can also donate money towards the effort. Click on the "CONTACT" link to donate.
    BTW, I bought a T-shirt yesterday.

Got the shirt site saved for later..I googled El Mirage but couldn't find what I am curious about..Is the lake bed groomed at all or does it stay flat by itself? How?

the lake bed is wet during the winter (hopefully) and the wave action or something flattens it out. No grooming of it is done to my knowledge. If the course gets torn up they simply move over.

That's one hell of a cool early Fathers Day gift for Mickey.

I wish them luck at Bonneville later this year. Wish I could be there.

Damn, I'm sorry. I moved the photos on my Photobucket and just realized that they dropped off this thread. My apologies...

    Here they are again.
