About 6-7 years ago I bought an old Model A coupe out of a barn. Someone had started to cut it up for a doodle bug so I only paid $200 for it. When I was loading it up the old guy told me there was a motor cycle engine in the trunk that I could have as well. I didnt pay much attention at the time as it had four flat tires and I had all I could do to "drag" it out of the barn. When I got it home and looked, I discovered it was an old Harley Davidson single cylinder engine, stuck but complete. Turned out to be from a 1913 Harley. Sold it on Ebay for $2500. And thats no BS story!

no pics but when we got my buddies shoebox home, and searched through the trunk there was a complete 59ab all apart ,in ancient coffee cans, after emptying the trunk we also found glove and a ski mask with what looked like dryed up blood on the glove tucked into one of the lower quarters in the trunk, car also had been wrecked in the front and had bullet holes in the windshield that had no apparent exit through anywhere in the car.....
the car looked like it had still ran when it was parked because the 8ba and trans all the running gear were still completly intact.

ha that was a trip had us playing cold case detectives. car had been parked since the 60s at least.

in my shoebox all i found was the last registration of the last registered owner from 1965

in my 52 pontiac i found a little pages sized porn mag from the 80s folded up neatly and tucked under a brace under the package tray,

when i bought my 50 fleetline in 2000 i found the old registrations from the last registered owner from 1975 and low and behold the car belonged to my grandfather!!!

also in my 50 pontiac parts car i found an old smoking pipe, and an old magizine for pontiac owners from 1951.

  12. If any of you guys work in dealerships or auto shops, we could have a "what have you found in a customer's car" thread..

OOHH boy..I could go on for days.

And I'm not rooting around in them lookin for stuff..just what you encounter doing you job..

So far ..TRUNK MONKEY is the winner.

I guess someone got tired of the organ grinder's monkey picking his pocket..

Bought a 65' Buick Electra 4 door hardtop for parts and registration, while pulling it apart found the guys grass behind the number plate/gas filler door.

Not as good as the trunk monkey though. that was a great find.

  25. I bought a '62 Olds in 1974 from a guy that just got out of the service (I did later wind up buying my current house from his father in 1986, an estate sale).

I was going through the car and found a set of new chrome 394 valve covers still in the box from GM. The box was trash but the covers were mint.

I also found his wife's military ID card from a base in California, Modesto I believe. I also found some nude Polaroids of her as well under the front seat. She was a gal that a buddy of mine was banging after high school in 1972 or so. I should have held onto them, no idea what I did with them.

Just today, I was helping a buddy gut the interior in his '66 Galaxie and found an open, petrified Hot Pocket under the seat. That's weird enough- but the last time the car was registered was 1985... did they even HAVE Hot Pockets back then?
