-This morning I visited my friend, Dan Webb and his Daughter Ashley at their shop. As you may, or may not, know Dan is nearing the completion of his interpretation of Harry Miller's "Golden Submarine"
-Whereas the original "Sub" was (duh) a shade of gold, Dan's car will remain entirely natural steel, aluminum, brass and titanium. The motor is a 400 horsepower Ford Racing 4 cylinder that runs on alcohol. It has an enclosed drivehaft,a billet in-and-out box and a billet quickchange. The car weighs less than 1,000 pounds! Here's a sneak peak at what will debut at S.E.M.A.
-Hopefully Dan won't mind my posting my photos.....Mike

I have been in love with the original, but this gets my motor running!! Man, I wish I could stop by and see something like that being built, Woody.

  12. Saw it in progress in Detroit. I hung around it till I was afraid I'd be arrested as a stalker. I am Heading to SEMA to see it done. It may well be the most beautiful piece of automotive work I'll see in my lifetime.

That sheet metal work and the design are the caliber of genius. Man-O-man that is so very "kool beans".

-I know that a lot of guys/gals got their juices flowing talking about Posie's new S.E.M.A. car but Dan's car must be seen in person to be believed. It's truly a 21st century build! ..........Did I mention it's 41" tall?
-Here's several more pictures with 3 more to come. The opening in the left hood side is for the Schroeder drag link/steering box from Dan's good friend Gary Schroeder, who happens to own several real Millers.
-Kudos to Dan Webb, Thom Taylor and Craig Naff for their efforts.

I saw it in progress at Autorama and spoke to Craig. He certainly has a passion as I am sure does Dan Webb. Great piece. The attention to detail was an I am sure is incredible.-Jim

thats an amazing level of workmanship !!

too bad they decided on running a in-out box, it won`t be real drivable.

  30. I can't wait to see that in motion- it would be awsome to run it alongside the copy of the original Golden Sub at the next Miller reunion!!!

Dan Webb's work on this has been a pleasure to the eyes since it's inception!
