3 Hot Rod magazine covers in 2 years goes to show how special this car was... (if you count the Jan '49 cover that is 4 covers).

Another monster in the making. Dan's on my top 5 list of builders in the country........ You need to see his builds in person to believe them.
I've been fortunate enough to have him as a friend and watch him perform his magic at his shop. Dan, and Ashley, have the ultimate in style ideas and Dan is a master craftsman.:)......Mike

  14. Thank You for the heads-up Ash. Great looking website and blog you have too.;) I'll be keeping a close eye on this build.

Like a lot of other guys here, I really dig hot rods from the "golden" era of hot rodding - be they original ones or repops.

I look forward to updates of this build, and seeing the finished article. By all indications based on past efforts, this one is really going to pop:)

The historian in me is asking what happened to the original? Maybe there is something other than useless crap on FACEBOOK, can anyone view it or do you have to expose your intire life to total strangers, I don't own a cell phone either. Hardcore old school. Bob

Hope the driver got out ok? I think that Dean Batchelor first flipped it at the lakes, maybe got caught in a cross-wind...car was then rebuilt, according to Gary Emory (Neil's son, body done at Valley Custom), and then totatled later at Daytona Beach...

No one commissioned Dan regarding this build. Dan builds cars that mean something to Dan. Sometimes he adds a small twist to them to suit himself such as his Golden Submarine build..........

No one commissioned it. Dad is building it for himself just like the golden sub and Remington car

Thanks Ash. I saw the Golden Sub at SEMA several years ago and had a great chat with your dad about the car.
