Hey guys, I am just curious. How many of you drive your classic to work everyday?
I do. Well, I don't work but I do drive mine everywhere I go now that it runs.
Everyday. my 1959 F-100
I do I drive my 64 cadi coupe deville everyday. the days I dont drive that I drive my 57 ford wagon, my 49 olds, or my 72 suburban. The wife has the only new car and I like it that way
63 to work, school, band practice, heinas house etc...
If the weathers nice I drive mine....
back in the 80's my driver was my 61 Dodge. commuted 200 miles a week on 880 between Fremont and Oakland, which is a pretty shitty stretch of road at commute times for a big ol' car with a 3 speed column shift and drum brakes.
my backup car was my 62 Caddy. I didn't have a regular car at the time.
these days my old cars are not moving under thier own power. with all the cel phones and gadgets people are messing with while driving I don't think I'd do it now. too much stop and go on my commute and too many idiots
I drive my avitar 40 miles round trip, five days a week.
i drive my my 65 f 100 everyday
I drive my 40 international truck 5 days a week and to shows on most saturdays in the summer
How do you want to play this one... My avatar has been my daily, but also my only transpo for almost 17 years now. I once signed on with a big corporation and was handed the keys to a brand new company car, and handed them right back. I just don't fell comfortable in late model cars, nor do I feel safe. For awhile my commute three to four days a week for work was from Phoenix to Yuma, About 180 miles each way. Drove every bit of it in the Plymouth. I left the company when it was suggested that my hot rod scared the "old folks" in the R.V. parks I worked in. They always seemed to love it.
I usually split the duties between my coupe and my pickup, assuming they are under their own power. This week, I drove the roadster, since the assumption about being under their own power didn't hold up.
I drive my 65 F100 when I have to go somewhere. It is the only thing I own out of 11 vehicles that is insured and licensed. A couple years ago I drove a 63 F100 in the middle of winter with a 4 speed and 292 Y-block. It was reliable but I couldn't stand the noisy mechanical lifters.
Lots of 'em here.
I don't drive the 32 every day in So Cal traffic but I do drive the 68 Ranchero or the 63 Falcon everyday I'm not on the Harley. 60 miles commute from OC to the SGV each day
My '56 International is usually the daily, but lately been taking the '63 Galaxy to put some miles on it before the drive to Bonneville
I drive my '63 holden wagon to work and back everyday,
not too fast , but hasn't left me stranded yet.
Zman is that you?
Cool story bro!
My daily is my '61 laurentian, but lately I've been trying to get back in shape so I've been riding my mountain bike to work as much as possible.
I drive a 65 dodge dart or the 50 dodge in my avatar.
Daily drive my stuff up until recently. I used to drive my 52 to work windshield only at 6 am. I'm a little bitch when it come to the cold so I used to throw a blanket in the drier and wrap it up to my nips for the drive! It was leopard print too and people would look over like WTF?
i drive my 55 olds 88 to work, school, out on the town, pretty much anywhere i want, its kinda nice to be able to do that.
my neighbor has a 4 door 64 caddy, he fills the trunk with food and stuff to donate and drives it across the border into tijuana every other day to give the stuff to local churches....been trying to get my hands on that caddy every chance I get...real nice guy though
Nearly every day since I got the 5-speed installed. 63 C10 pictured in my profile album.
