I found a bunch of my dad's old pictures from Daytona and Sebring races from the mid 60's. I know they are probably a bit off topic but I wanted to share them with someone and I couldn't think of a better group than my friends right here on the HAMB.
They are not off topic at all (and I respect the statement). Great stuff, thanks for sharing the personal memories. I would like to hear of what was happening when the pictures were taken. Dale K Cleveland OH
cool pics i wish my old man still had photos from when he worked for a ford dealership (unfortunately he was an accountant and dosent apprieciate cars) his drive car was a vw beatle but any employees that had secure yards were asked to take home cars that wouldnt fit into the workshop ' stuff like falcon GT's,hardtop falcons,landow's,and i seem to remember a mustang or two
I talked to my dad tonight and he told me that he was in the Sea Scouts and they would work in the pits and control tower for the races at Sebring. He was about 14 years old at the time.
Nice pix! Used to go to those races - lived in Florida - get there a couple days early and you could hang around the pits during practice - never took any photos, though...
