It's just something I wanted to build. Aluminum nose. Original very heavy to mount headlights and front hinged hood. 48 Ford front suspension. 16-1 Corvette steering. .060 over 308. Isky cam Vertex mag. Edmunds head and intake. T U G mini starter. Quartermaster 2 disc clutch. 37 Packard trans. My own steel converted quickchange. Land rum 125 lbs springs.
Close up pictures of the blue 27. 454 BBC radiator in the rear. 2 fans. 350/350 with a very LOW marine intake.
Where would the 45 car have run? California? Still, it looks sort of like an improved version of a Wisconsin modified / IRA car.
Built like could have been built by a professional race car builder. MSC/IRA rules of which there was none back in 1957. All MSC/IRA cars were home built back then and most were pretty crude. My BFF Billy Schwister and friends built this # 6 TUBE frame car in 1957. Billy set fast time every night at Hales Corners that year. PS; M S C. Tube frames outlawed in 1959. # 97. Parnelli Jones 1960 San Diego championship car. My re-creation.
I have convinced street rod builder Terry Hodgson , Iron Ridge Wisconsin to build a recreation of the very fast # 6. I have located a lot of parts for the project including a super nice body.
The exhaust pipes are being coated now. Finished the brake pedal. Used the steering clamp lower bolt to start. 3/8" threaded rod. Very ridged. Cheap Ross steering 11-20-23. The sprint car frame off to be painted .. KIS.
The Parnelli Jones #97 frame. Someone asked me where did I get the plans. Have you not heard? I'm a race car designer. It's my own design, not at all like the original. It's all hidden by the body.
Sold the 29 roadster as-is to a contractor. He doesn't know anything about hot rods and never owned one. Rod shop going to finish it only has experience assembling 32 kit cars. I used to call it " Potential A M B R contender" PS; Those are NOT Dodge Lancer wheel covers.
Adding a 50's type sprint car chassis. Kinda like a streched midget. Every thing that unbolts has been chrome plated .
