This was a project someone started then sold it to Jimmy & he has brought it to us to finish. We have a different vision for it & we'll be doing it differently. When Jimmy brought it to us it was already braced decently. The roof was cut off with 2.5"off the A- pillars. We want the chop to slope back with the highest point being at the front. In order to do this without having to cut more off the back we are adding roughly .5" back to the A-pillars. We will cut the back quarter of the roof off and shape a new roof with the desired curvature, instead of stretching the center of the roof. We will also be slanting the B-pillars & keeping the drip rails. This is going to be a full build. Here's what we've done so far: IMG_1190.jpg IMG_1198.JPG IMG_1201.jpg IMG_1303.JPG IMG_1207.JPG IMG_1208.jpg IMG_1210.jpg IMG_1224.jpg IMG_1237.jpg IMG_1245.jpg IMG_1248.JPG IMG_1311.jpg IMG_1276.jpg IMG_1278.JPG IMG_1279.jpg IMG_1293.jpg

Not a big fan of late 30's mopars, the front ends tend to look more like trucks to me. But you two seem to turn everything into a " silk purse" so I am going to follow along and watch the magic continue! Happy cutting Larry

  18. I used to have a long-term project '37 Plymouth coupe. I didn't think it was possible to improve the profile of that car, but I have been proven wrong. My favorite part of that car was the quarter window, and the way the back corner of the door top curved around. Most of the chops I have seen completely destroy this area, and make it look more like a Chevy coupe. Looks like you are keeping the flow of this spot. I hope you can pull it off. I'll be keeping an eye on you. Don't make me come down there! :)

Thanks! We are cutting out the B-pillar area and re-doing the rear quarter window so that it flows with the chop. As far as you coming down here, that's funny. Come on down. I might be a chick but I can hold my own. ;)
We would be happy to give you a tour of the shop!:)

  21. If I was still living in Oregon, I would absolutely take you up on that offer. Unfortunately, it's a pretty far drive from Wisconsin. I'll just have to watch from here. Keep up the good work.

I've got to check MapQuest from Boston , Mass.---47 hours, 3,023 miles-- piece of cake, I can be there for dinner on Friday!! Formal attire I presume?

Finish the 1/4 window, throw on some flipper caps, and it's done!! ( paint optional).
That looks awesome- it's really cool to see something different now that 32 thru 36 coupes are huge money (for a pile of parts just to START a build)

    I'm in love!! ( again)

We are cutting it out and remaking it so that we can avoid having a port hole window. That way we can give it a little more shape.
    Thanks, no wand just tools.;)

The talent displayed by the re working of this car is amazing. Beautiful job-I said it before, and I'll say it again; you've taken an underutilized platform and created a piece of rolling art that is spectacular!

ANOTHER car I want to have in my garage!! Top Shelf Job.
