I thought this might be a fun thread (or not). I've had this for 25 years or so. Twenty years ago it was involved in a 3-car wreck (all mine) and I kept it dented until a few months ago. The lettering on the side said it was a Sportster, but it doesn't look like a Harley to me. I unpedaled it, lowered it a bunch, added 53 Plymouth tail fins and I think it looks spiffy (your opinion may vary).

I built one every year (see Vintage Pedal Cars) for the 50/50 raffle at one of the Car Shows I'm chairman of. (First ticket drawn gets choice, cash or pedal car, Second ticket drawn wins what's left) It REALLY boosts 50/50 ticket sales.

I built this Custom Woody pretty much from scratch...except for the chassis, hood, grill and wheels. The wood is "curly maple" left over from a grandfather clock project pedal41.jpg pedal42.jpg pedal43.jpg pedal44.jpg

I put this thing together from junk parts. The body was to rough to restore so I just cleared it. Full diamond stitch interior, radio flyer wagon "drivetrain". The front wheels are from an old tricycle. I cut the bowtie horn button from a 55 chevy bel air dash cluster. water pipe headers and dual air cleaners round out the performance mods!:D 20180414_132439.jpg 20180414_132348.jpg 20180414_132424.jpg 20180414_132417.jpg

  4. First photo is 40 years ago. After two daughters, and four grandkids later. We put many miles on this little custom pedal car. I found it in a junkyard for $5. bucks.:) 20160126_043809.jpg 1528.jpg 2348.jpg 105.jpg 192.jpg 223.jpg 20171229_103301.jpg

  5. I got a body for this var in 1984, when I was three years old. My father realised how much work that was involved building a frame for this, and abandoned the project.
When we got our first child in 2011, I insisted that me and my father finished it!

I first tried to use the gear on the Wiper motor, but it was destroyed the first time my son released the gas pedal. So I went with a gearbox from an old drill.
