speedfiend's has got to be one of my favorites. I wish I knew enough about metal fab and had the right tools to make a dropped front axle. I'd really like to get the rails to sit on top of it, rather than under it. BUT, mine is made to come apart and fit inside my trunk, so the whole front end assembly comes off with two wingnuts.

ktm454, can you tell my the measurement between the front spindles on yours? I'd like to make one with the front end pulled back a little, but the way mine is, any further back and the wheels rub on the tub.

Here is what I did to my sons wagon and now I get walking exercise because he wants to ride all the time.I also started with this pedal car I got off of clist for 20 bucks and made a frame and drop axle.It steers with spindles and tie rods.

My buddy built this about 10 years ago it has a 5 horse Briggs & Stratton motor and disc brakes. Capable of about 35 m.p.h. a little squirrelly though. That is me and my dad at a party I had, yes it got garaged before things got out of hand!!

This thread has been very inspirational in my Son's Radio Flyer build. So many cool projects! Now that I've started it I thought I'd post up some progress photos from his build.

Lucas approves of the "tub" and wheel upgrades. Like many others, Harbor freight $3.99 wheels fit the bill for this build. I might upgrade to go-Kart wheels/slicks in the future but these will work for now.

First time the tub is attached to the frame:

Some leftover aftermarket e30/m3 sway bar links are going to work perfect as tie rods!

Now to finish the steering and mount the fenders, then it's ready for paint! :)

So glad to see so many others that have transpossed them old wagons to better use. Heres what I have done with mine, thier pushed and steered from the rear so as the little one sees more then the butt of who ever is pulling it as well as grandpa can keep an eye on them up front. I built the frames and the dropped axles. look closely and you will see the rim of the wagon in each project. Up here in Canada the nights are long and the days are cold, nothing else to do till spring.
