Custom headlights

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Sancho, Nov 4, 2003.

  1. Anybody know where I can find these Cibie headlights? Does anyone
reproduce these? They are kind of an oval shape, with the chrome
"eyebrow" surround. They were popular on customs in the 60's and
Barris used them on alot of cars. I don't have a scanner, so here's
the only pic I could find online......

  2. Try a search for French 60´s cars restores, I think Renault 16 had them. Though I guess they can be hard to get new...

If you want the style and not necessarily the exact thing look at some of the Jags from the past decade, XJS for example. They started using similar lights in USA after the DOT seled beam laws went away.

If you look at the ones for a XJS, they angle back quite a bit.

So do most 50's and newer cars.
I've seen the style of light molded into a '58 Chevy.
Even if the XJS don't fit your particular application, look at that era of cars for others that might nd are still available over the dealer counter.
