I know this has probably been talked about numerous times on here, but I did a search and turned up empty handed. I'm thinking about putting together a custom grill. I really like the look of the knobs i'm running now,but i was thinking of going with a shiny back piece instead of black. Anyways post up some pics of what you have.

thats what the 58 buick grill looks like. google for a pic of one

  5. That's what a '58 Buick had it looked just like that only shaped different.

Here's a bit of trivia for ya, did you know that the '58 Roadmaster had the most chrome on the dash board of any american car ever manufactured?
Ta least that's what the "Guinness Book of Records" says.

Actually, we built a complete framework from round rod...each Buick "upright" consists of 4 squares ...we had to build brackets to hold each "upright" on the round rod, once we had them all spaced properly, we tack welded the brackets to the uprights...

Believe it or not it took 7 weekends to figure out placement/spacing, build the framework and attach all the "leeeeeetle" squares to match the curvature of the hood and bumper...

But IF you want something no one else has...you've got to work at it...

Hey Cracker...use a type of screen...there's all kinds of patterns out there...and if you must, paint it silver...attach the knobs with a flat washer...

OR... have a piece of stainless steel cut and polished...

I have a 57 Buick grill that could be trimed to fit in side your opening and then have a perfect pattern to drill for your bolts or screws behind what ever your choice
