Hey everyone. I designed and cast these Mercury style aluminum caps for my '29. They mount to 32-35 ford wire wheels using the back of the reproduction caps as the mounting hub. I bead blasted them then hit the highlights with some fine sandpaper.

I design in 3D cad and have a 3D printer to make the master just like I did for the cowl blister in my avatar. If there is any interest I will throw an ad in the classifieds like I did for the blisters. Sand casting is fun but it is also a ton of work going from concept to a finished part.

Those are very cool. I'd bet there would be a market for those, especially if you limit the number you'll ever make on the mold, that would be all the more encouragement if the price is high.

    Make millions of them!
Then I can get a set for my 35 at a good price!
Seriously what are we looking at here?

I will get in trouble for talking about sales in this forum so i won't go any further there. I will post an ad in the parts section. Until then message me if there is interest. Thanks for looking and the kind words.

  12. You got to have someone watching backwards. I think they are absolutely bitchin and look like a factory cap. I would buy a set.

It takes a lot of work just getting the master designed, printed out and finished. The center is an actual part from a real cap so I don't have it in my program.

Just givin you a hard time, 4spd. Designing and programing in 3D is no easy task and yet some people think it is.
Had a customer a long time ago that would comment "Well, that's easy if all you have to do is type in some numbers; shouldn't take any time at all".
Right. I told him that the hard part is knowing what numbers to type in.....not sure if he got the idea or not; but it did shut him up.

  24. very nice

given their size and obvious weight i wonder if they need to be balanced?

  26. And I thought the blisters were top shelf stuff........you are amazing me, great patience and talent!

  27. So would I be able to use this method (or hire you) to make over sized hubcaps? Need to make 32 B hubcaps to fit a 7" wheel holes.
