I am trying to build a mild custom 1941 Chevy. One thing I'd like to replace is the factory bumpers, mainly the front one. I don't like the way it hangs out in space, nor do I think it's well proportioned/shaped to the car. To me, it looks like an afterthought spear shaped piece of metal on bulky, visible brackets.

Problem is, 1941 Chevys aren't common cars, so I don't have many (any) examples of what looks good. Not much has come up in my search of the web or my collection of little pages. Please post pictures of custom bumpers on their 41 Chevy cars or share your ideas on what might look good.

Here are the few pictures I found on the web. The Dick Arkline car has a 1946 Chevy bumper. I am not sure what's on the purple one.

    Thanks,
    Ed

A 1940 Olds front bumper would be a classic custom look.

Has anyone ever seen a 46-48 Plymouth front bumper on a 41 Chevy?

  4. i like that bumper on the purple one.
I got '41 Cadillac bumpers for my coupe.
I was going to use '46 with the wingtips, but they looked a bit heavy.
