A few people seem to be missing the context of this thread. It was established to allow for the posting of photos of current day race cars built with a nostalgia theme. Do we need to start another thread for current photos of restored original cars? The cars in posts # 649, 656, 657, 660 and 662 all fit into the latter category thus they are not "modern day nostalgia race cars".

  5. The purple '32 Vicky of the Vulcans car club is a recreation built in the last ten years. The body started as a '32 two door sedan and was reshaped into the Victoria body style necessary. The roll cage and interior tin work were all done by race car builder Frank Aldana. I think it qualifies.

Hi All. Not a car owner, but an amateur photographer who enjoys time at the races. I am fortunate to be a track side photographer at Milan Dragway in SE MI. Here are a few of shots from the Nostalgia Drags held in September.

I hope it's OK if I post here, please let me know if you'd prefer I didn't.

Glad to see you post! If you click on one of those photos it'll take you to my Flickr page. Once there, if one were to poke around a bit, one may find some shots of a specific orange and white Logghe car, and maybe even a white truckster! I think there's one of the Logghe car in the Nostalgia album and the rest are in the 'Old School' album.

I live in Milan, looking forward to meeting you next year!

The only one I would question is the Dark Horse 2 of SW&C . It could and I think is a picture of the original car. That one was destroyed in 67 or 68 and ended Doug Cooks driving career . But his son Mike Cook was building a clone of it a number of years back. I have always wanted to build a street version of this car. My favorite of all the long nose Mustangs! Larry

Now that I see Merc's post, I pulled the Russo and Santos pic, that is the original car. Apologies.

  19. Not a modern car. This is the Original Grove Bros car from the 60's owned and restored by my buddy Ron N on display at the Meltdown drags a couple years ago.

  24. 20190519_114531.jpg for the guys that like to race their old correct looking cars check out the george rays who wants to go racing thread. racing a old car on a modern track is just ok. racing your car on a period correct track is over the top. the track has not changed much from when it first opened in 1961. we do sessions of flag racing at designated times using the original flags. the track is 1/8 th mile. its a unbelievable trip back to the past you just have to see to believe. its a track time has forgotten. we had the first race last spring. it was cut a little short do to rain on sunday. we then had a make up race in september. we are looking for bigger and better things for next year. the dates will be may 8,9,10th. as word spreads this will become the next big thing. its that cool.
