    ATTENTION IN THE PITS!
A HEADS-UP class for gassers running alcohol (I know) was created in 1994. The classification is AA/S (AA/GS - AA/GasSupercharged minus the Gas). First race winner was Wayne Harry from Vancouver, Washington. Goodguys (VRA) began running the class at west coast events in 1995. A scheduled series for these cars has been run every year since! Minimum weight 5.5 lbs./ cubic inch, maximum 6-71 supercharger rules have been in place since alcohol cars were run against blown and naturally aspirated gasoline cars, before class designation was created. For pictures of the GREAT CARS that have competed in this class and to view the race schedule see aasupercharged.net. Current record holder- Troy Owen, Albany, OR- 6.49/215 (quarter mile)in a 41 Willys that looks like a 41 Willys. Congratulations!!!
An older website is aasupercharged.com. Additional info and more great pictures from a previous association might be found at aagassers.com. ENJOY!

When the nostaglia gassers are up, it really turns back the clock! I hadn't been to a race in over 30 years when my old high school racing buddies talked me into going to Bowling Green. Hooked again! As work winds down, I see lots of nostalgia races (and pictures like this) in my future. I can live with it. [IMG]

The fuel cars look similar to the old days, but the lack of smoke on the runs make it hard to get the feel of the action. The burnouts will have to suffice, I suppose. [IMG]

The giant slicks on these cars date them, but you've gotta love the look and the action. Bowling Green, 6-2009[IMG]

I really dig the '31 Chevy! I am building a '29 Model Pickup with a blown 392 hemi and a clutch-flite. Hopefully mine turns out half as nice as yours.

Brian Darcy out of New York in the near lane. I am out of the picture on the right as the other half of the team guiding the car back from the burnout- and nowhere as good looking as Brian's girlfriend.:)

Rooman, thanks for the narative. It would have taken me a minute, but I would have identified that as Darcys "friend" eventually. Next time you see him ask Brian about eating grits for the first time. Damn yankee, thought they were like gravy and you were supposed to put them on top of the chicken fried steak at Cracker Barrel.
