Yep, but most of my hours were actually in the F-4S (white nose) - it was the last variant prior to the Navy going to F-14s.

Love the small world department stuff... my old squadron flew F-4J, N and S (and then back to Ns) based at Miramar in the early 1980s (VF-21 / CVW-14 / CV-43). Gary

  3. I may do just that. I like warm beer and that looks like the perfect beer warmer. ;)

Right on. I was a Navy pilot to. However by the time I got there F-4s were just used to tow around gun targets!

Didn't mean to say I was aircrew... I was a 1630 but spent a lot of time embarked with aircraft on a variety of flat tops. Gary

No issues here, brother. I ended my career with 3,100+ hours and 597 traps, and credit every successful sortie I ever flew with the whole team around me. I owe my life to all the guys I ever deployed with. Any tailhook aviator worth a damn feels the same way.

  8. Your cup holder is pretty cool - I think I'll try it with a V6 valve cover or shorten a V8 one. The cover would probably be in the way of the my 5-speed shifter.

Now for cold drinks it would be cool if the valve cover could hold ice ...

  11. I wanted something unique and home made, so this is what i came up with. I used lexan window scrap from work and some 1 inch square acrylic and two spun aluminum cups removed from a locomotive going to be rehabbed. It is mounted between the seats to there mounting brackets. Not exactly traditional, but i dig it. IMG_20171209_1630153_rewind.jpg IMG_20171209_2024573_rewind.jpg

Picked up 4 of these "Boat Glass Holders" at a church sale for a buck - they work surprisingly well !!!
