Guys, this is a cool thread. But one thing I have seen is that Ryan and the hard-working moderators keep the site functional by eliminating drama. Sometimes, they shut down a thread -- even one as good as this -- but, more often, they ban the people in the fray. Just a word to the wise.
Great info, guys! BTW, the National Geographic article I referred to is the COVER story for their November 2012 issue. I checked. I think it fleshes out the matter, in a broad sense.
