   I'm just guessing but I think maximum performance isn't a consideration for the OP.
   IIRC, the long runner version of Chrysler's cross ram was done at 4500 RPM, the drag racers jumped on the short ram version as soon as it became available.

   Edelbrock made a cross ram, the X3. You can still find one if you search hard enough
