Update! We arrived yesterday evning, went to sleep in our motel, picked up the car this morning, went down to fix new title, insurance, went to walmart to buy some beer and a toolbox, started our trip but didnt come so far-we didnt have a multimeter so we dont know the problem yet, probably its the voltage regular or alternator so we have to check that tomorrow so maybe we will need some help findning a new alternator or voltage regulator if someone could help us, were still here in phoenix (glendale). Hey guys:D Everything started when I found a baby Lincoln 2dr from -49 on ebay, he was asking too much but after a few weeks I receved a mail and he told me that we had a deal. So I took contact with a swede that lives in Phoenix, 20 minutes from where the car was so he made the deal for me and now its standing in his shop and waiting for us to come over on wednesday and pick it up.

    Our plans:
Go up to Grand Canyon (have to see it) after that we are going to Viva las vegas and after a few days of casino We are planning to go to San diego, after that up to LA, drive half of the highway 1 to leave the car before we take a rental car to SF

Soo, the reason I wrote this is that we would like to know if you have any places we have to see? All we have planned yet is NHRA museum in LA, maybe Universal studios. And the moon speedshop in LA so we need some advice:p

Also I will be writing here and see if anyone can help us out if something gets brokend on the trip.

    Thanx guys!

Sounds like a cool trip...keep us posted. I don't have a ton of advise as I'm from the mid west. Well the advise I have is stay away from the mid-west we're about to get 6-8" of snow!

When in the L.A. area, be sure to see the Peterson Museum and the Nethercutt Museum in Sylmar. Look them up in advance on your computer. If you can get up early on a Saturday morning, go to Donut Derelicts in Orange County. If you're around Burbank on a Friday afternoon late, go to Bob's Big Boy (restaurant.) If the Pomona Swap Meet or the Long Beach Swap Meet is going while you're here, be sure to go there. When in Las Vegas, go to the big car museum in the Imperial Palace Hotel .... and Count's Kustoms.

Look up So Cal Car Culture on your computer for a fairly complete list of car shows - but be aware, many of the listings (particularly for cruise nights) are for fairly small events.

The Justice Brother museum / headquarters in Duarte is a quick free look at many vintage race cars.

VLV is a ton of fun and good start. The week after VLV is GOODGUYS in San Diego, that show is huge and right by the beach=lots of good cruising. That same week is also a good night for Cruising Grand in Escondido, its on Friday. Last year it seemed like a good number of the cars in town for Goodguys went out to Grand and cruised.

Kennedy Brother's, SoCal Speed Shop, and Bobby Waldons. All within ten minutes of each other, and all worth a stop at if you are near the NHRA Museum..

If you're going to the Grand Canyon, you'll be headed west on Interstate 40 when you leave. If you'd like to travel on Route 66, the longest unbroken stretch is a cool trip. Start at Seligman and drive to Kingman. There you can decide if you want to head for Vegas or Los Angeles. If you continue towards LA, I am 20 miles south of I-40 at Exit 9 in Lake Havasu City, which is home to the London Bridge and tons of old cars.

And I forgot to mention Spring Break. Why waste your money in strip clubs when you can see it all right here in "The Channel"? You can also bring your own 30 pack of PBR while you sit and watch the action.

If in San Diego You must visit Ocean Beach, Some really nice bars along Newport ave.
There are good motels a little north in Mission or Pacific Beach, which also are good for partying.... Garnet street for instance.

    Ha de gött!

In Burbank, Hollywood Hot rods and Old Crow are almost next door to each other, then a few miles away is Toluca Lake Bobs practically the birthplace of cruising...almost. Tommy Ivo lives a few blocks from Bobs. Then visit the sites of famous Valley Custom and SoCal Speedshop, all within a few miles of each other in Burbank.
