OK I'll go there, but go easy on me 'cause I love all drag inspred stuff. I saw that car at Billetproof, not much draw at first I must admit. Then like a fly to a zapper I had to go and check it out, I'm a curious type. It is really bitchin' (start shooting if you like) but I totally dug this P.O.S. after I checked it out for a while. I can just imagine this at 1320 feet. But that's a Chevy not a Flatmotor for the record just so you guys don't think I'm totally lost.

Yeah I dont know ive heard bad and good things about them. Mostly bad unfortunately.

 

the guys that work there are all pretty cool guys.. but there is just no excuse for that car

 

i think those really big exhaust opening are being mistaken as wheelwells

 

I don't know,.... put the axle where it's supposed to go and it would be a cool little ride.

One question.....just.......WHY?


Maybe somebody had abunch of nice vintage hot rod parts lying around that they couldn't find a good use for? In my opinion it is just a waste of a lot of good parts plus a decent Crosley.

i agree..the car does have a cool body and look,but the axle way out there is just an all around bad idea.i checked this thing out at a few of the local shows last summer and its done pretty well..just think it is a little over the top.

 

Those are the guys who, from what I hear, originally built my Ranchero. I hope they weren't the ones who lowered it -- they made some interesting choices to say the least.

 

One of my favorite cars of all time is this Crosley. It shows up at bakersfield every year. It is a restoration of an original drag car.

 

The car wouldn't look so unfinished or say, awkward, if they had filled the front wheel arches.

 

But where would you put the headers?

 

I dig it, looks like an old drag car to me. I would drive the wheels off it.

I thought it might look better with the fiberglass stretched, but I'm not so sure now.

Oh gawd I hate those cars. For some bizzarre reason my grandfather hoarded them, and my dad is holding them as well. They aren't even hotshots. Its like holding on to a rusted out washing machine that runs on 48vdc. What the hell can you do with one?

Someday I'm building a tebuchet and nobody is going to stop me.
