Been working on buying this for a couple of weeks - just picked her up on Friday, 61 Mercury Meteor. Its pretty much stock except for the interior, wheel skirts, and spots. Bought it from the second owner, and was only a few miles from home!

What a dream to drive down the highway!

Dont have too many plans but I would agree with Hotrodhon, she needs to be lowered, some new wheel treatments and a shave job is about all she'll need. Ok maybe a Maroon flaked roof.

    Any suggestions beyond these?

Caddy taillights, though overdone, always look great with that body style...

there's a nice 4 door model in town for way cheap...

that's basically my vision while i was interested...the bullet tails as well...as over used as they are...there timeless in my book...

a mesh grill with bullets would fit the style well too....

Brush has a real nice rendering of one i beilieve...

I never thought I'd say this - but leave her the f alone man! that car is so bitchin' lookin stock! It looks low with that great stance. and those spots. it looks like it's in perfect condition. and not that value is the bottom line - i don't beleive it is - but could you seriously add ANY value to that car by chopping her up? i wouldln't even f with the caps. maybe some lower profile tires but the ones on there look great. thats a sweet ride man. would you mind telling us how much she was? maybe i'm starry eye'd by looking at to many overpriced cali cars out here.

There is alot to be said about leaving her just as is.

I do think I will put some 2" lowering blocks in the rear.

The retired fella I bought it from had it for 19 years and really kept it in top shape. Its not perfect, one or two small bubbles and a few thin paint spots but she's nice.

Wow, very cool car. I'd lower it maybe some chrome wheels with spyder caps and a medium white wall tire.I especialy like the interior, 60's cars had the best factory interior's. Gary

Me dig it a lot! I wouldn't do anything to it except install curb finders on the starboard side.

    Hey Brett;

If it were a 60 this would work better.

    Really fuck em up.

Put a 59 chevy grille in it.

    It's already lowered.
I know, it's not scrapin, but it's a lot lower than stock.

Those are "the other custom tail lights" that everyome wanted if they didn't want '59 Caddy's, don't fuck with the tail lights, unless you want to put them in a box and send them to me. I'll pay a fair price.

Just change the oil, replace the seat covers with something similar and don't drive it on salted roads, but just drive it!

Looks Great!! Leave it alone and just enjoy driving it. It's a great car and it already is different than must of the cars out there. Just my 2 cents.
