Technical Crane XR3000 ignition for dummies?

a buddy of mine gave me a Crane XR3000 ignition box. Can I run this off a single set of points? What coil do I need and does anyone have a wiring diagram? Been searching here and online not much comes up that is helpful.

Ya but for the optical pick up only.

 

There's a thread on here about triggering HEI with points; maybe some tips in there.

 

Looked at that. Thought someone might have some insight into the wiring. Seems it should be the same as an msd but without knowing which wire does what what I am kinda lost. I don't want o smoke it right off.

 

Yeah , don't let the smoke out. If you blow the smoke seals the box is ruined!

 

Found a little info online about it. Three wires to the sensor in the distributor, sensor doesn't ground through the distributor body. So, likely one of the three is ground. Will see if I can find more.

Couldn't find anything. Material I had here didn't reveal any secrets. I did try.

 

No worries @Algoma56 i gave it back to my friend, I didn't want to let the smoke out of it.
