This poor 1935 chevy grill was on craigslist for 5 days without someone saving it from being yard art :)

Why did you black out the price? Did you pay an arm and a leg for it?

I've never understood why people think it's rude to ask what you paid for something. I guess they are afraid of people thinking they are idiots because they paid too much.

We don't know it's a great score yet. He may have paid as much as $100 for that Chevy grille.

  7. Asking price was $600 I missed it. I think it's aftermarket but not 100% sure. Either way it was a good buy. Nice score man. I payed 1200 for mine so this guy did real good.

My late dad raised Arabian horses. He never told what he paid for a horse or what he got when he sold one. He taught me it was rude to ask and no one's business anyway.

That's all true, but we still want to know. We just do.

Anyway, the price is not the story here. If I may be allowed to point out the obvious, the story here is "What the hell was going on with the Chevy logos?" It doesn't matter if you are a Ford guy or a Chevy guy, everyone knows that display was wrong. Nobody has asked that question, because we know there is no rational explanation. We can all just be grateful that a great wrong was corrected and balance has returned to The Force.

Here's a list of some things I've bought and the prices of paid for the stuff...............

    My Comet: $2500
New computer two weeks ago: $700
Dinner at some Mexican food joint a couple of nights back: $12

Not being embarrassed that I may have been ripped off or just being a secretive dork: priceless

    Muttley,

I don't think it could be explained any more clearly or concisely than you did right here! Thank you for the brevity and the profundity!

Some of you guys really know how to suck the fun out of things. Its 100% Cherry original Henry minus the chevy parts wired on it. My whole point was we got anything but ripped off. I blocked out the price cause it was a package deal with other stuff inlcuding a WWI helmet.

How's it look now after you took all the Chevy parts off? Also, are the Chevy emblems original and in good shape? If so then you could sell them and get some of your money back.

It's been hot here lately, ugly hot. I just checked two seconds ago and it's 110° in the garage right now even though both doors have been open all day. When the temperature gets this high I tend to lose interest in automotive related stuff. I've been messing around with a couple of old Schwinn Stingrays lately, I can work on those in the house where the air conditioning is. ;)

So, now there's a price on "cool"? Man, as long as you're happy, that's what's COOL. If that were mine, I'd hang it on the wall and be satisfied with the "art" of it.

    GREAT. FUCKING. SCORE.

  23. it's not a 33 -36 chev grille !!!

If that's yard art I need to come to your neck of the woods.

  26. Oh man, nice score. I bought this grill from an interior decorator a few months back for 200. 1468629510024.jpg

I don't ask what someone paid because I don't care.
