If any of you are like me, you check Craigslist most days to see what is out there. I am always looking for the buy but nothing in particular. My wife thinks I am nuts but I usually seem to come out on stuff, usually..... I have picked up everything from Ideal pop machines to gas pumps and signs to cars I don't need. My find today was 4 new in the box ET wheels. They guys bought them in 71. They are unilug 4 lug wheels with the caps and lugnuts and washers all included. Do I need them no but somebody will. Turns out the Willys Aero my dad picked up this fall from another member hear is where they will end up. I had them in my posetion for under a hour, I did not make any money but good to see them used. Feel free to post your Craigslist find of the day and pictures if you would like.
My 52 Willys could use those...and it could use some good taillight lenses too...!!! Nice score... R-
Willys Aero? That is what they will end up on. I also have a set of American Dragmasters that are old that he has for it. He may be willing to sell the wheels he does not use on his.
Last week p air of ET2's for $20 and yesterday set of 4 bias ply Firestone for $60. I check craigslist religiously.
I bought a set for my "brand new" 73 pinto wagon, switched them to my "brand new" 74 Mustang II. Damn did I have crappy taste in cars back then!!!!!!!
Winfield model A head, intake, 2 carbs, and 2 cams for 500. Bought a 30 truck cab and title for 200 bucks. Guy had me come back a few weeks later and gave me a 39 Trans and a bunch of other goodies like headlights and taillights. A 32 dash. A bunch of window cranks and shift knobs and some other smalls. He was into 40 ford's and all this early stuff was "model A junk" 32 taillights for $20 bucks just down the street from me. I can keep going... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well I'm retired and I check craigslist several times a day.My favorite is the "free stuff" section. Amazing what people just want to get rid of. I got a cherry picker that someone had lost the bolts for it in a move. Lots of lumber and building supplies. Leftover wheels and tires. Last week someone was giving away two roosters,I still have one, but we had roast chicken for Sunday Dinner.
Hey wolfcreek, if you took either a stock pinto or mustang 2 to a car show I bet it would draw a crowd....not many left, at least here in the northeast!
I found a 3X2 Offy small block Chevy manifold & 3 Rochesters for $60. A month ago I got a Hilborn set up for $250. (both posts disappeared- new Ham rules?) I also talked to a guy today who wanted $25 for a set of points and wanted to know what I was smoking??? Its like fishing.
I found a running 409 truck motor on CL a while back for $500. Rebuilt it and its in my '38 Chevy gasser.
I got my Anglia spindle mount spoke wheels for my dragster off craigslist... needed to be cleaned up but $200 was a ton better than $1000 for a new set
