Technical Cowl Lacing question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ric, Jan 28, 2016.

  1. I am installing cowl and radiator shell lacing on my '32 roadster. I heard that the trick is to soak it in water for 2-3 days and install wet, then it dries and shrinks to fit tightly. Is this the procedure you people in the know would recommend ?

  2. It will stretch enough to catch a slot. Look at it close.

Didn't on mine, fitted ok but I have no patience. One thing I did though was apply a light wipe of rubber grease once fitted as the hood would stick to the lacing
