My big goal for this car this year is to have it ready to take to the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling green in June.

The car received the American Heritage Award. The '63 Z06 Racer behind it did as well. See they aren't all bad and maybe not what some may think. There were no book to tell them how to restore these cars.

Loudbang, I saw this Corvette about 2 years ago at a fancy car show. It is actually pretty good looking. Body is aluminum, if I remember right.

Some good prices on fiberglass. If I could only place an order and get a front clip for $200, in fact I would buy a couple of the stock clips at that price. Passed on a Kellison on a 62 Vette chassis about 10 years ago for little money and regret it to this day.

Little different but popular on the east coast. Fire departments build these and run like 100 yards and jump off and do fireman stuff.

I've never thought of them as just cars.

This car received the top Concours Award in the Modified class this past January at the NCRS Regional Meet in Lakeland Florida. Car attracted a lot of attention and everyone's attention when it was fired up for the operations check.

Cool barn find, glad they are still out there. With the interest in drag cars it hopefully has a chance of at least keeping the look and character of a drag car.

The old school blown 62 posted by Rumblegutz above (without the hood) was owned by Paris Fish in California. I used to keep a picture of the car handy to remind me to get my black 62 on the road when I had it down for a refresh. I read back in the 90s I believe, that Paris Fish still owned the car. I wonder where it is today. Certainly has the look of cool IMO.

Saw this photo in the Vintage picture thread of what I believe is Lincoln's Corvette back in the 70s or 80s (Seattle area and now I believe Corvette Pacifica). One poster felt most of the car may be back on the road by now. If I was a gambling man I would say not as buying these wrecks from salvage was often very expensive. Could be as I have been wrong more times than I can count but working on the wrecks I have brought home you would have to be a glutton for punishment. Easier in many respects to drag home a project where the panels are in place and the frame is not twisted.

I have tried over the years to buy some salvage parts from Tracy Performance and Paragon (both local) and I have come home empty handed shaking my head. Went to Tracy's a couple of years ago as I needed a piece for the lower rear quarter for a 1958 and thought I could stumble on a piece in his "yard". He wanted a satchel of money and I ended up molding the part myself. He had a 62 right door and a buddy needed one so I asked what he wanted for it-$1000 and it was sold. Then he had a rear tub for a 62 from the firewall back-no doors or trunk lid or convertible top lid and I asked for kicks. He told me he had it on ebay for $10,000. Funny thing I was looking in Craigslist a couple of days later and found one very similar in the same color (Honduras Maroon) from the mid door sill back for $750 in Cleveland. Hooked my open trailer up and the wife and I went down and got it as I felt it was a no brainer (although I may question my sanity on many occasions.) At Paragon I have asked for some prices on beat up panels but prices are way high. I will make them an offer on a front clip this year but I bet I will be ordering a new clip at a cheaper price. I don't blame them for asking that much as we all have to make a living-just a fact of life that the price they want is often more than I want to give.

I blew up a portion of the photo and it looks like a 57 drag car with the push bar. I would have to study what looks like a roll bar to see if the car is at all familiar. Sad it met this fate as well as many of the other derelicts. Broken Corvettes.png Broken Corvettes2.png
