That's the only one I have. Would love some history on it. Looks like a beast.

I believe I may have a note on the car but not sure I can find it. I probably will stumble on it when I least expect it. I would have thought I would have put it in a file that is easier to find but that is not the case apparently. 123108244_10216567447887885_7887341243362643000_n.jpg 123112940_10216567448727906_7653270415000797642_n.jpg 122909856_10216567446607853_835158518117562800_n.jpg

I am not sure about that particular race but if I was a gambling man I probably would choose the Vette. It appears to be a pretty healthy crowd (guessing an SoCal track) and Raunchy ran mostly west coast tracks I believe. As I understand Jay Gage drove the car that ran a BBC early on with stack injection on alcohol (late 60s). Car was pretty much an early funny car with an Art Carr trans and I have a note he ran high 8s at one point in the career of this car. The car ran through 1971 and later on was blown and ran on fuel.

I can only imagine that this run posted with the Mopar was an eliminator run and depending on whether they ran heads up or on a handicap, the Mopar would have his hands full if the Vette had a a good tune. Sadly I do not have the results of the run so we have to make it up as we go along.

Does anyone else remember how many Corvette funny cars went bottoms up about this time? It seemed like every Hot Rod had pictures of Corvette with their tires in the air.

Jason, nice pic of the Yenter Corvette. I believe that is Carol Yenter who drove the car next to the driver's door. They ran this configuration in 65 and 66 I believe and they added a bit of nitro for good measure.

I remember seeing Fever at US 30 drag strip, Trybula and O’Brian ran a lot of overdrive on the blower and that thing screamed through the top end.
