    Pat,

Thanks for the note! Problem is the car had no drive train. There doesn't seem to be any differences between the frame and a regular frame, but I can't be sure that the frame wasn't switched out after the car stopped racing. The only modifications I see on the chassis are 9-inch, as opposed to stock 7-inch front sway bar links, flat washers between the frame and front crossmember (Maybe the four-inch spacers were used but taken off and that's why there are only flat washers now because they didn't have the aluminum shims anymore, and maybe use of spacers is why the links are longer?) When the frame was sandblasted, we found a bondoed spot on the outside only of each side of the frame where something may have attached? See pic. That's about all I have to go on unless I get some history.

    Bob

I haven't been on the HAMB for awhile. Not sure why, just busy I guess. Anyway starting about Christmas I started working on my 1965 Corvette to get it back on the road. It has been sitting for 5 or 6 years since we moved and had developed the usual problems. Carb all dried up and leaking, not to mention all the rubber parts had turned hard. One brake caliper was leaking bad and on and on. Anyway, as I was working on it the ol car was cleaning up pretty nice. I went ahead and entered it our local Starbird/Devlin car show. I mean the thing is 50 years old now. We had a great time at the show talking with people about the car. Here's a picture. hamb.jpg

first let me say what a breath of fresh air this post has been, to see corvettes modified instead of that nut and bolt restoration s--t. I love it!! Does anyone have a picture of Joe Biss's J&F speed shop vette?

Hey you Midwest guys, anybody got any photos of Curtis Wasson's blown '62 Corvette that terrorized the drag strips back in the '60's. It was a 4-speed car and occasionally ran match races against alcohol funny cars. I remember him running against the "Kingfish" Barracuda best of three. He blew the blower sky high.

Yep, that's Wasson's car. I don't remember it being green or black, just the tan color, but he had it for awhile and I don't know everything. Great pictures. Thanks. guys!

Got this off another thread here, this is at Dover Dragstrip. Also say's "Dragmaster East" on quarter.

    Pat

Got this info from the doverdragstrip.com site. Thanks to albaran.

"B & W" stood for Al Bowes and Jerry Weslyn who had an auto body shop in Fairfield.

Nice pictures Enloe, it's been a long time since I have seen a corvette done like this. The Nemesis looks like a 56-57 front end with a 61-62 back end. They used to fix wrecked corvettes with the closest year model fiberglass that they could find. Usually from another wreck.

I saw her at old Green Valley Dragstrip near Gadsden, Alabama must've been around late 60's match racing someone (who escapes me) but she was very pretty then & quite flirty (I'm flattering myself here LOL) I remember there was someone there with a blown Corvair...weirdest sounding something I ever heard!
