31HRG the top photo is Dick Moroso's 61 at Dover. The Pete Gemar photo I don't know other than he's running CM/SP and it looks like a west coast Corvette to me.

Pat I believe the other car is Thomas Justice out of Indiana in his 1960 Corvette.

As to Butch and cleaning out the spark plugs, many of us have been guilty of the same offense. Hopefully Jim you have the opportunity to go for a ride here and there with Butch's 61. That car is a real survivor.

Based on the Erson Cams and Headers by Doug, I though so too but the storage tanks in the background sure look a lot more like Indy!

Thanks Jim D, I drove his car lots in his final years. I am sure I will be driving it many times more. His kid has it now and broke the engine. Over revved it missing a gear. Broke a rocker stud boss. I had it repaired and need to reassemble the engine. I have been working on that car since he got it in 1968.

Perhaps 4 or 5 years ago. It spent quite a while in the courts try to determine
    legal ownership.
I believe # 2 is in California and # 3 is in Carlisle Pa.

An interesting tidbit is the damaged #1 car above was driven by John Fitch when it broke an axle and flipped at Sebring. The car was repaired and was given the #3 livery and raced and won class at Lemans. If my memory serves me much of the repair was with the assistance of GM. Pretty cool car with a great history.

Dave is correct that the Lemans #1 and #2 cars did not fair too well and the #3 car did not take the stripe without it's share of grief either. All in all it was arguably Corvette's greatest triumph in competition.

Dave, is the number 1 car the one that was found in maybe Fl, and was brown? Was a drag car at one time?

  22. If Scotty B's ever goes out of business you have to try to score the big sign for me. I'll trade the "B" for a "T"..........

There's no way Scotty B's is going out of business as much time as Moriarity spends there.
