Would you happen to know if any of these were saved...restored to original or there modified versions... 1552313912926672358324510913936.jpeg 15523142199296882641387809412921.jpeg 15523143717835025544279283714126.jpeg 15523147255994000028494955023459.jpeg

Rudestude, the yellow BM/SP was found I believe in northern California. When it was found someone associated with the car contacted me to see if I wanted to buy it. I tried to do a little research and asked if they had any history (they did not). They wanted $25,000 and I passed. The 53-55 I am quite sure was saved I have seen it before-mind has gone blank on it. The moss covered car has been exhibited with the moss on it. Not sure what to think of that deal-chassis and all the components and the interior metal pieces are probably pretty sad.

Bruce good meeting you at Autorama. Let's hope we get some good weather soon. My property is holding a lot of water and is like a skating pond due to the deep thaw-can't wait.

We spoke two pages back about CX as a class. It was an AHRA Modified Sports class as of 1964-not sure how long it was a class. Doing a lot of research-hopefully will fill in a lot of the blanks I have in my files so that I can do a decent job on a book. I can see it will be a bit of a project and will take more than a few hours I imagine.

  5. This car is in a museum in Evansville Indiana, looks exactly the same. I stumbled across it last summer. It’s not the same car as the moss covered one.

    Jim,
    Good to meet you too.
That moss covered one would suit me fine. I'd build a frame and do a 'silhouette' car. Then trade a guy I know for a chopped windshield and top.

Does anyone know what's up with the front of the moss car? Looks rather strange.

Thanks guys for the info...I knew moss car and the red car are not the same car...I saw some other shots of the red one ..it seemed to be semi-customized...when ever I see pics like this I just have trouble with how that could happen..I realize shit happens and with out knowing the story behind the story's you can't really judge...it used to just sicken me but through the years I have had s set back or two and at times cars got side lined, never neglected like these were ..infact a neighbor from down the road ,older guy in his 80 's ,he would walk up and say you got that one going again...no...how about that one pointing to one of my other old cars...not quite but close ...well how about the other ones sitting there..not yet ...as he is doing this I was washing a lowered 57 Chrysler Windsor wagon that had broken a rod ..then he says you are the only guy I have ever known that washes dead cars....so I explained the reason was that I didn't have inside storage for them and parked out side just sitting the dirt and leaves would build up and rot them out...I don't think he really understood... the real problem was I would get to many cars and to many projects and sometimes ,most of the time, not having enough fund s to fix them all and not have proper storage I can see how it can get away from you...now days if they are going to be down for some reason and they don't get something done for a while they go up for sale because I don't want to be one of them not for sale going to fix it someday guys....

These are not "hot rods", just plain vettes. 20190311_130350.jpg 20190311_130428.jpg

Pat, owning a C1 Corvette had been a dream since I first rode in one (1965?). Really couldn't afford one until I found this basket case. Then it took me 8 years with my $2000/year budget to get it on the road. LOTS of swap meets. I'm the guy who bought all your discarded parts! Here's a shot during construction.
