Thanks Jim. I wondered what you used as your car launches real hard. My car will see much more street time than track time, so I want something that is "user friendly". Appreciate your reply. ( 12 clutches in one season...almost $5K in parts. Yikes.)

Gosh, no wonder the prices on Corvettes and 67-69 Camaros are in the stratosphere, the majority
    were turned into racecars.

Gotta hand it to you, Loudbang, you sure dig up the photos.

Well I have spread so much death, destruction and mayhem throughout my career that I have to add some good karma to offset all the bad. When I find some old photo and a member pops up and says "hey that is my old car, or I used to work on that one, or I used to watch that one every sunday" that makes all the time and effort to find them worth every second. Bringing back good memories and making someone smile for the day is what keeps me looking. :)

Jason great shot of Wildabeast. I wonder if this is early 1964? I have another picture of the car with Wildabeast on the door but some of the lettering is different and I believe it is from the 64 Winternationals. I believe he hooked up with Jim Shores about this time and then a bit later switched to the Anglia for the 1965 season. As I have said in the past this 62 is one of my favorite cars period.

Jim, I wish that I knew more about the details of the Wildabeast picture. It is tough to find any pictures of it. I agree with you. It is one of my favorites too.

I think that Bo Laws was from Georgia and he ran a national record holding Midyear Corvette Coupe

The Corvette stuck in my mind for some reason. Funny because I can't remember what I did yesterday. Thanks for the pics.

I like 'em all, but to me those C2 coupes made for a wicked-ass race car! Sit just right w/big & littles. Launch wheels up & level out, poetry in motion. It don't get much better than that!:D
Thanks for all the pics, guys.

Geez, I dislike this car, and I'm not one of those that rails against modern day street driven gassers.
I guess I just don't like the fact that someone is pounding out "Gassers" in a professional business
to guys with mega-zeros in their bank account. Hmm, is that jealousy I sense?

Quick 85 I saw this car up close at the Meltdown a couple of years ago (maybe 3). The workmanship is all there and the builders use it as a display piece I believe. If it was meant to remind us of how they looked back in the day I am not sure they hit the mark. The tires are all wrong and the stance is a bit high IMO. I asked the guys (builders or owners) at the display if they ever ran the car down the track and they said no (even though I kind of figured that).

Last year the Nickey crew had a great looking Nomad with a 409 and I spoke to them about the "gasser" 1961 Vettes they built and they told me that pretty much one guy bought I believe four of them. The guy is a friend of Quain Stott and they are a much more representative car of the era (save for the front wheels-10 spoke I believe). I would own one of those with only minor changes.

I have a friend that has mega zeros in his bank account and he enjoys cars as much as you or I but knows how to make money maybe a bit better than I. He surely keeps some restorers and cars shops a little busier which in the end helps us all.

The one above does look cool but may be more street freak than gasser IMO.

Thanks for your comment, Jim. While I certainly can't deny that it's a good looking car, I felt that it
would see very little strip time and in all likelihood wouldn't be a strip killer, and that's what I would
expect from something like this Corvette. I read in Car Craft (I believe) a long time ago that race cars
don't make good show cars and show cars aren't built to cut it on the strip. Of course, that was before
damn near anything became acceptable at the big car shows. As a street freak it hits the mark, as a
car that is representative of an era, it's a poser. It's up to each individual to come up with an opinion
    of these knock-offs.

Not a Corvette but here's another example of what we're speaking of:
