Jim, You couldn't have done this at a worse time for me. That Vette would be sitting in my garage right now, but it would cost me the purchase price and half of everything I own. Is that a full frame? I had always thought it was an original frame, probably back halfed. Bruce Edit: Now I have read the whole description from the eBay ad. I see the frame is in fact a complete replacement. I won't be able to sleep tonight!
Bruce sorry about that. It is not back halfed- it is a full tube chassis. This picture allegedly shows the tube frame when it was built. Car was super light to compete in A/G. The NHRA rulebook allowed rectangular 2 x 3 (.120 wall thickness) in A/G in 68 and onward, when it was built.
The koolest cars always come up for sale when I don’t have a leaky pot to piss in Jim that car really needs to be restored it is a neat part of history wish I could swing it if I could I would be running that thing at meltdown next year
Jackson, I wish you could run it at the Meltdown probably more than you do. After getting hooked on Corvette drag cars in the 60s, just seeing the car in my shop always put a smile on my face. Life seems to get in the way of our dreams at times and I finally figured out I would not get to the car and hopefully someone can make this car come alive again. And Enloe having it go to a good home would be great-getting a good price would not be all bad either.
Enloe, You took me right out of the bidding. I have deep pockets. In fact, so deep can pull up my socks reaching in them. But there is no jingle in them!
Well Jim, the Glasstripper is officially famous. It hit Barnfinds this AM. Haven't seen any of the usual "restomod it" or "throw in an LS and drive it like you stole it" comments yet.
Thanks for the heads up Doug. Funny though it was never lost in my barn at least. It will have a new owner shortly.
Jim, I see that it sold. Do you know if the new owner is a HAMBer? Would be nice if we could see it come together.
The above car is for sale and has some interesting history. Only sharing, know nothing else about the car. If you check the seller's profile you will recognize his other car!https://www.facebook.com/groups/656707827852145/permalink/1794214707434779
It was a few years ago, Mike Wolf in Kingston NY had it for sale. I haven't heard anything about it since covid started. Pat
Pretty sure he still has it. Give Mike a call. His cell is 845-706-7173. Has a number of vehicles for sale.
If I had a vote for the nicest car at this years Autorama this 1960 Vette would be my pick hands down. This is Ed Kasicki's 1960 Vette that he is going to run in AA/GS. Some of you guys might recognize the name as the owner and driver of the 33 Willys called Phenomenon. He always runs quick and puts on a great show. The car is really outstanding in terms of workmanship and he says he is going to run the car, hopefully this year. I for one cannot wait to watch it run. Will be kind of cool to see him make some passes side by side with Bob Cook's Crazy Grandpa 57 Vette. With over a thousand horses it should put on a great show as well.
