  2. I had a few of those cameras over a span of about 5 years, the first one (that I took this photo with) was found at a yard sale, NIB with several accessories, some kinda DeLuxe package deal when new, I gladly gave them $5.00 for the whole deal. It was difficult to find film around here, best deal I got was on clearance at a Wal Mart in Conway, AR in 2000, twenty packs for like $5 or so...some of the photos turned out okay, some didn't, most of the film was way past expiration lol.

I eventually sold the camera, box it came in, the accessories and a few bonus items on eBay to someone in Japan that must have reeeeeally wanted it. $$$

All this photo stuff makes me want to get back to using print paper as film and doing long exposures with my collection of brownie cameras...

  3. Look around for a used digital, viewfinder is fine, it doesn't need to be a DSLR. The technology advanced so fast that there are a lot of technically obsolete cameras out there that take great pictures.

    Hey HB,
These two are from my wife's family. The small one was hers and she says that it was her companion throughout her early years through high school in the OC. The photo of the 1959 Chevy Wagon at the Salton Sea was taken with the big one.

The one of the Mustang was taken by her with the small Brownie. She wanted to drive that car to school, but only a photo was all she could get. The Grinch was mean.

The good old days... just point and shoot.
Both cameras are sitting on my son's book case shelves on display for his collection. I am sure they would still work, but getting the film would be difficult.

  7. actually...I've used 120 rollfilm (still obtainable) in my brownie hawkeye flash model, it winds up on the 620 spool just fine, but ya gotta be picky who you have process it for you, if you want the vintage metal spools back ;)

  14. Thanks, but the truth is, the ol beater is a bit rough around the edges, but it usually does photograph pretty well, especially when you know how to hide it's flaws! :)
