Cool old toolbox, Great Grandpa's

    Revisited this while doing some organizing. Obviously home made but unfortunately by whom...No idea. It is fairly well made , maybe made on a remote job site or work camp during spare time?
    Sockets are a mix of old Snap-on, Wards Western, Proto. Plumb & Herbrand.
    I had to look up Herbrand as I was not familiar, great reading, seems they were combined with Utica & Bonney under the Kelsey Hayes Co.
    Who knew?

    cool history. maybe grandpa made it in shop class, then it looks like he took it to ww1 with him! :)
     
  4. Great old box and it has a history with you! I used to collect old tool boxes and paint some of them up to resemble old sign painter's kits. I still have quite a few kicking around. You might want to check out the Vintage Tool Box thread on here and also the Garage Journal forum.
