Several years ago, I got tired of never being able to find a magazine article when I wanted it. So, I collected about 50 cardboard boxes, taped 'year' labels on them and arranged them around the inside walls of my shop. Every time I ran onto a box of magazines, I'd sort them into the cardboard boxes. When I finally felt that I'd exhausted all the 'stashed' magazines, I started buying plastic containers and re-sorted each year by magazine title and issue date. This all took months to accomplish, but it was worth it. Here's a photo of the final product - I counted the number of magazines in one tub and multiplied by the tub count - I figure that there are well over 5,000 issues here, pretty much split between hot rods, sports cars and old car mags.
Do you have any Rodding and Restyling with you at the Meltdown? I am looking for issues from 1958. I hope the weather stays drag race friendly!
My January 1953 Popular Mechanics with the dubious new product. How about a whole house humidifier with an ASBESTOS wick fully exposed to the circulating air and heat from the fire pot!!! Nothing too dangerous here.
