Nice pics. Cool to see the Safety Safari might have fueled up in Wyoming maybe? That 32 on the jack is from my native Ohio also. Dont see too many old timey hot rod pics from either of those states. Thanks.

Unlikely to be a “ made in China “ floor jack.
Was how it was done years ago, probably also by most on this board.
The world continues to change and now we more sensibly use jack stands.

 

I've lost two friends who didn't use jack stands and when I was younger and thought I was seven foot tall, invisible and bulletproof I nearly bought it one day the same way. Like an old hot rodder I hung out with used say, death doesn't care who it takes.

 

Thats what we thought floor jacks were for! When you compared them to the bumper jack they were safe as the front porch swing.

 

I've had these in a little plastic picture cube since I was a kid. Taken by my dad at the Portland Roadster Show, either 1957 or 1958. I know he had more pix from this era, just wish I could find them.

 

Thanks for the pics. Photos like this always make me wonder what happened to all these cars. I suppose many morphed into something "new" that we wouldn't recognize if we standing in front of them but still, I wonder.
