I know where one of the test mules for the XP-700 resides. Not the pretty car show body that eventually was converted into the first Mako shark. But an actual body double that was probably used to test road handling and such. It's been in a garage since the early 70's with promises of fixing it up one day. It's complete with all the body panels but there are no bumpers, just 2" square nerf bars welded to the frame cut right through the fiberglass body. Maybe one day he'll actually sell it to me to restore.

Most don’t give a s**t anymore. Older car enthusiasts probably don’t go to auto shows but there are concept cars there. Wierd looking with “self driving” styling. With 99% of cars looking alike today, what’s new even every grille looks the same.
There are always trucks that look more military than streetible with head lights that shine in our rear windows. Super cars have taken styling to new limits and watching them wreck on YouTube is one of my favorite pastimes.
Our family made an outing on Friday nights to looks at the new cars in the 50’s by following the sky search lights in September and October every year...long gone.

This is actually a cool concept. This was designed by the same guy who helped design the Tucker Torpedo.
It is a self balancing two wheel car (enclosed motorcycle?) that uses a gyroscope for stabilization.
The same guy eventually helped make a working prototype with the Gyro-X car.

Would these be registered as a motorcycle or a car? Would you need to wear a helmet if it is registered as a motorcycle?

Living in MI you see concepts driving around, they're all covered in strange fabric wraps with odd prints, you've seen um I'm sure. We see a lot in my town because MIS is here, so they go there for this or that sometimes. I saw one of the new mid vettes all wrapped up like that, and it turned my head. But other than that, I'm not sure what they're covering them for. All cars look the same nowadays. Bikes did the same thing. In the 80s and 90s bikes and skateboards all had crazy different shapes, etc. Now? They're all the exact same....

I had a Forrest green 68 Bonneville too. They were such nice cars and they could usually handle the Mustang or Camaro everybody seemed so interested in.. I never really liked those cars unless they were built up a little..

1963 Chrysler Typhoon. A lot of shared styling with the Turbine cars. FB_IMG_1640804968339.jpg FB_IMG_1640804971099.jpg

  27. You’re right about that. Buyer paid $3.1 million in 2007.

That may have been Lenos, he owns one. Also one privately owned in St. Louis (recently sold) that was at the MoPar Nats in Indy in the mid 90s. One more in existence that was on display at the Walter P. Chrysler museum, I believe corporate owned.
